Oral Hygiene: The Best Way to Floss Your “Fangs” for Halloween

As Halloween quickly approaches, it’s very important to take good care of your smile. You can do so by brushing your teeth (or fangs if you’re a vampire or werewolf) twice a day and flossing your teeth at least once a day.

However, our Bull City Dental team understands that flossing can be a bit tricky sometimes. So, to help you, we have provided the following flossing tips:

-Break off about 18 inches of floss. Wind most of the product around one of your middle fingers, or around your paw if you’re a werewolf.

-Wind the remainder of the floss around the same finger on the opposite hand or paw.

-Hold about an inch of the floss between your two index fingers without any slack. Guide that section of floss between your teeth by using a gentle back-and-forth motion.

-When the floss gets close to the gums, curve it into a “C” shape against the tooth or fang. Then gently slide it between the tooth and gums until you feel resistance.

-Hold the floss against the tooth and gently scrape the side, slowly moving away from the gums.

As you can see, flossing in Durham, North Carolina, isn’t as tough as you may have thought.
